A: We use the same system as the British - that is, a large, square-ish three-prong plug running 220 volts. |

Q: How much free time will we have? |
A: Really, there isn't much. The program won't be rush, rush but there won't be large blocks of unplanned time either. Each evening there should be time enough to relax and have some fun. And during the day between the different planned sessions there should be at least a little time to yourself. |

Q: Should I change money before arriving? |
A: If you can change money before departure it will save time getting out of the airport when you arrive. As Cyprus uses the Euro it shouldn't be difficult to change money before you come. If not, the airport exchange office will be open when you arrive. For most of the week we may not be within easy reach of a change office or bank, but there really won't be much chance to spend a lot of money either. |

Q: If there is an emergency how can my family contact me during the expedition? |
A: Dale, the expedition organizer, can be contacted by cell phone during the expedition. His number is +357.99.865.440. During the days that you are hiking you will not be able to use your cell phones or be in contact with anyone. If there is an emergency your parents should ring your supervising teachers or Dale as they will be seeing you several times each day. For the days when you are not hiking they can contact you directly or leave a message at the hotel. The number is on the itinerary page. |

Q: What is the area we will be hiking in and are there any maps? |
A: The hiking area is the western penninsula known as the Akamas. It is an area of rugged beauty and quite remote despite it's proximity to civilization. The area map is available here, though it is very large (3 MB) so will take quite a while to download. |

Q: How much spending money will I need? |
A: There will be a few opportunities to buy souvenirs, and you will need some money to pay for extra drinks at the hotel. Also, you will need to organize with your team for buying the food you will eat during the days of hiking. For extra drinks and hiking food you will need about 30 Euros. The amount you'll need for gifts and souvenirs is up to you. |
